How to identify a broken spring.
Check above the Garage Door. Most doors nowadays have a tube that the spring sits on. If your springs are along the side, then they'll simply dangle down if they're broken. Running the door on a broken spring can cause damage to the door and the opener, so please avoid using it. If your door isn't running right, the cables aren't aligned (picture 2), or you're simply concerned, we can always set up an appointment to have an experienced technician come out to identify the issue for no charge.
